In 1971 Goro Hasegawa registered the mark Othello and began the tale that we're trying to tell. But before that date, Reversi was already existing, read the whole story!

Here are collected some pictures of classic boards, coming from the times when the trademark was not registered yet: so, before 1971.

Plastic didn't exist yet, or it was very rarely used, and games were mainly made with cardboard, wood and even paper. In addition to the lack of plastic, the distribution was poor and the market wasn't big enough to allow a large production, so generally ancient games use very cheap and not very solid materials.
